Un cours complémentaire de spécialiste (CS) peut durer jusqu'à 19 jours en fonction de la complexité des compétences et connaissances à acquérir. Pour les soldats, ils aboutissent à un nouveau grade d'appointé. Les astreints possédant déjà ce grade ou un grade supérieur n'en changent pas.
